Overview:

A 3-day class designed for those individuals who are in the role of maintaining InTouch systems but does not need to create new systems, screens, etc.

Note: If you are a System Platform user, this class is NOT intended for you; please refer to the System Platform Maintenance class syllabus here.

This course is ideal for maintenance professionals or others responsible for troubleshooting and keeping systems highly available.

  • Module 1 – Understand “system” components, general architecture, data flow – System Overview Using an architecture diagram as a basis
    • Lesson 1 Explain system Components and their use/function, explain Terminology
    • Lesson 2 Explain Dataflow from PLC to HMI
    • Lesson 3 Explain general architectures and its flexible nature
    • Lesson 4 Licensing in general
  • Module 2 – Understand critical configuration Tools – InTouch System Introduction
    • Lesson 1 The Tools (Application Manager, WindowMaker, WindowViewer, AlarmLogger, SMC)
    • Lesson 2 InTouch on Remote Desktop Services – Network Application Development in RDS
    • Lab 1 InTouch Network Application Development and RT Viewing
      • Tie to MB Simulator, Notify Changes, TagViewer
  • Module 3 – Understand  PLC & Device Communications. Daservers, CFG Workflow (using content from WW Comms Class whenever possible)
    • Lesson 1 Industrial Communications
    • Lesson 2 DAServer Config – Review Existing Cfg,  Intro to WWClient
    • Lab 2 DAServer connectivity to PLC
      • Enable pre-configured DAServer and test w/WWClient
  • Module 4  – Understand how InTouch Communicates to a PLC via the DAServer. InTouch to PLC Communications
