Trent’s current role at InSource Solutions is anything but a coincidence. His time in the Army has undoubtedly impacted his professional career. His commitment to “never leave a soldier behind” shows in his everyday work as he strives to provide the best possible service to customers. This mirrors the Army’s dedication to achieving goals with the entire team intact. Trent is not just a goal-oriented team player; it’s his way of life.

After serving in the Army for 20 years, Trent decided to pursue a career in engineering and manufacturing. His passion for enhancing productivity through customer service made him turn to this field. Trent found this profession the perfect outlet for his love of utilizing data-driven reports to achieve tangible results. His vision was to impact the manufacturing landscape significantly. Trent started in operations at Coca-Cola before discovering his perfect match as a Manufacturing Architect. Trent’s diverse skills, accumulated from his Army service and working with individuals at all organizational levels at Coca-Cola, significantly influenced his decision to join InSource.

Trent has specialized in MES for the past five years, focusing strongly on AVEVA products and digital transformation for companies within the industry. With his expertise in helping clients effectively utilize these products and seamlessly integrate them into their operations, Trent has become an industry expert who plays a crucial role at InSource.

Passion for Empowering Customers in Manufacturing

Trent considers collaborating with customers facing challenges to be a cherished opportunity. He believes every obstacle is a crucial step in the customer’s journey toward improvement. For him, the joy comes from realizing that his work transforms the client’s approach to their daily jobs. Overcoming obstacles is just the beginning; his ultimate objective is to guide clients toward a more efficient and effective way of operating.

In the manufacturing industry, people are unaware of a lot of behind-the-scenes work. One of the most important aspects is the training required to ensure that all factory teams, from the C-level to the factory floor, are well-informed about the implemented products. This is crucial in ensuring the manufacturing process runs smoothly and efficiently. This is where Trent comes in. He trains clients to use the organization’s products proficiently and confidently. The training process spans six weeks and involves theoretical and practical implementation on the factory floor. 

Trent travels to factories to conduct floor rounds, monitor quality inputs, and track operators’ progress through a training matrix until they achieve full compliance. Achieving full compliance is challenging, but Trent’s approach to implementing process changes revolves around collaboration and comprehensive training plans. By involving the entire management team, he finds the transition easier as the supervisors can assist new and existing factory workers. By standing shoulder to shoulder with supervisors during training sessions, he ensures smooth transitions to improved processes.

Trent takes pleasure in traveling as part of his job, especially since each factory requires a unique hands-on approach. Having traveled extensively during his Army career, he enjoys connecting with a diverse global clientele, which enriches his training experiences.
